A Spring Statement at the Old Royal Naval College

Statement staircase floral installation with cascading yellow mimosa at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich

For last week’s showcase at the Old Royal Naval College, our design was led entirely by the architecture. Every floral gesture was created to honour the scale, rhythm and grandeur of the space, ensuring impact without overwhelming its historic detailing. Rather than competing with the venue, the florals worked in dialogue with it, softening stone, enhancing proportion and allowing colour to guide the experience from one space to the next.

Welcome Drinks in the Queen Mary Undercroft

Welcome drinks unfolded in the Queen Mary Undercroft, where cascading bar florals and layered greenery introduced warmth and movement into the space. Sweeping placements softened the solidity of the architecture, bringing a sense of ease and luminosity while maintaining a strong visual presence.

Poseur tables were dressed with considered floral details, ensuring cohesion across every sightline and creating a natural flow through the room as guests arrived. The palette was confident yet restrained, setting the tone for what was to follow without overwhelming the scale of the venue.

The Defining Moment in the painted hall

Moving into the Painted Hall, the staircase became the defining moment of the installation and the visual anchor of the evening. The sweeping ascent was enveloped in cascading mimosa, its saturated colour drawing the eye upward and transforming the space without diminishing its grandeur. It was a moment designed to be experienced in motion, immersive, intentional and unmistakably spring-led.

The bar was anchored with a sculptural floral arrangement in a monumental urn, grounded in rich marigold tones. This bold placement created a counterpoint within the room, while additional bar and table florals ensured the palette flowed seamlessly throughout the space. Each element was carefully proportioned and considered from every angle, allowing the design to feel cohesive rather than compartmentalised.

A Confident Start to the Season

This installation was never simply about florals. It was about atmosphere, how colour can soften even the grandest of settings, how scale can guide movement, and how a single, confident palette can unify multiple spaces within an iconic venue.

Bringing spring into February felt deliberate. A conscious decision to open the season with confidence and set the tone for the months ahead. It was a statement of intent rooted in immersive installations, bold palettes and fashion-led floral design that works in harmony with extraordinary architecture.

Connecting with so many of you throughout the evening added real energy to the room. The exchange of ideas, creativity and ambition continues to drive our work forward and reminds us how powerful collaboration can be when vision aligns with intent.

As the season gathers momentum, we’re embracing scale, colour and immersive floral storytelling more than ever. If the evening sparked inspiration for future celebrations, we’d love to explore how we can create something equally considered, and entirely unforgettable, together.
