SPRING GARDEN
Chelsea Flower Show
RHS
Evoking childhood memories, “Grandad Day’s Greenhouse” was lovingly crafted as the entrance for Spring Garden at The Chelsea Flower Show 2023.
Huge branches frame the doorway leading to the potting shed, where the air is filled with the scent of fresh herbs, tomato plants and sweet strawberries all the things Grandad Day used to grow in his ramshackled greenhouse allotment I remember visiting as a little girl.
Trees and flowering plants in terracotta containers bring colour and height against the marquee structure welcoming guests to experience the hospitality of the AP & Co team and Skye Gyngell at Spring Garden.
Grandad Day’s Greenhouse…
The Woodlands…
Follow the bark pathways to the foraging woodland garden where you can relax within the tranquility of the rustic tepee, or escape to the planted swing seat nestled under a canopy of trees in the heart of the show. Every detail has been thought about, every plant strategically placed to heighten the guest experience for the duration of the prestigious show.
I am beyond proud of what the many hands involved in this epic installation have created, from the initial discussions to the mood boards, to sample meetings, to logistical challenges, we have laughed throughout and made life long friends in the process.
Behind The Scenes…
A very special thanks to my powerhouse team and to Kate & Sal from AP & Co who have trusted my vision throughout this epic process - I cannot convey how proud and emotionally invested we all were in bringing Spring Garden to life.
Big Love x
